I come from a family where my granddad and uncle were painters and wallpaper decorators. I helped a summer with one but it wasn’t really for me. I do like collecting nice images and cartoons. So i was thinking of creating a webapp where I could upload image collections into and create an unique wall paper mosaic texture. For the toilet, I would definitely do something with cartoons. For the bedroom, something with black-white erotic pictures. For the hall, something more experimental. For the bathroom, a cloud and sky collage.
I’ve been in transit waiting for my next flight. While waiting, I want to spend my time more useful or more to my convenience. I don’t mind people asking me questions about certain topics so I would engage with a service that has a booth where I can voluntary go to and answer their questions. In return, I expect at least a coffee or gift card to be used in the shops. International research will be a lot easier and richer if every airport embraced and facilitated this kind of service.
Dunno whether Google is the right organisation for this idea but they’re certainly crazy enough to create it and put it in some kind of alpha experiment.
Talking Thoughts is an idea in which everything you say out loud gets recorded so you can make plans, resumés, to do lists, meeting minutes, appointments,… anytime, anywhere, on the go and on purpose, via voice commands (start now, last ten minutes,…). It can be build as an extension of current technologies such as google glass or the smartwatch, or it can be launched as a stand-alone connected device (pin, badge) that seamlessly works with a web service accessible via mobile and desktop.
The goal of Talking Thoughts is to facilitate thoughts into concrete actions by simply expressing them.
It’s a site in which, every service and shop listed its, opening hours define the query you want to execute. You can say what you are looking for, and based on location, date and time, it will give you an extensive list of everything that’s open. You can finetune your findings even further based on thematic categories (sports, kids, gifts, shopping, culture,…), location (travel time included), date and time ranges, etc. A nice extra feature is the planning modus in which you can create (holidays and day)plannings upfront.
What happens with your digital self after you die? It’s a very valid question. I have thousands of online services I use(d once) and I have no idea what will happen with those after I die. Therefor an idea that will solve that.
iWILLvault’s goal is to provide a safe haven for your will, all your online identities, services and passwords. In your will, you can state what needs to happen with this after you die. The service needs to be accessed periodically to remain active until the people you assigned your iWILLvault open will receive a message from you in heaven and can read what to do with everything when you’re dead.
All people I know love music. It’s a giant part of yourself. A form of self-expression, discovery and a topic to talk about. In every conversation with strangers, when you get interested in each other, you talk about music. Or you go dancing. 🙂
Music brings people together. Every good film has a great music score. Whether you’re going to a festival, or when you enjoy an intimate jazz concert or when you’re listening to Spotify…
Spotadate is a addon/plugin/app for Spotify where that uses the streams of people. It analyses the music taste and sentiments from people. It uses it to present people you don’t know yet that could compliment or amplify yourself. It serves you people that can be friends or potential dates.
You can plug into other people’s streams to get familiar with their musical tastes and genres. And you can swap any stream to another one.
You see anonymously what people are listening too. You could tinder your way around people’s profiles, follow people’s stream. When you like someone’s taste of music, you can use the ‘identity myself with …’ button. When this person uses the same app, (s)he gets a notification to listen to your stream. When there is a match a chat functionality launches.
You can choose to use the app anonymously or with your real name. Find Spotify love with Spotadate!
Don’t you hate it when some customer support system automatically closes tickets without them being solved? The personal touch is gone and often people who are not helped, refuse to enter their question for a second time. The perception on customer support, your product and/or service and brand will be bad…
A simple support principle would be that you don’t close tickets yourself but ask your customer to do so. If not, (s)he will be contacted. Creating opportunities to touch base with end customers is not a buzzword. It’s simple principle whereby you create a dialogue and you will get to know numerous ways on how you can improve your product, service and brand perception. The feedback from your customers can be used to drive your business as they will be your first brand ambassadors.
At kañooh, we implemented this principle, next to some other customer touch points. So far, this works great and our clients think so too. Try it for your business.
A premium taxi service by moto, car, helicopter, plane that connects business centers such as Brussel with London, Paris, Amsterdam,… It had been on my idea list for quite some time but only today i read in a newspaper that a company is willing to launch a helicopter service between Knokke and London. I also read somewhere else recently that there is a aviation charter service between LA, San Francisco and another town in the VS. Well combine all these minimal products in a end-to-end solution whereby business men can use this premium taxi service to get anywhere in a business center in the shortest amount of time possible. The special moto is a vital aspect in this business concept as the last few miles always proves the most time consuming ones (cfr. business case Bubble Post).
You have a premium subscription fee to be able to use the service and a lower usage fee depending on the transport means used.
The idea is e-commerce but with/for services. 1stopshop helps you in managing your contracts with (your) preferred suppliers for everything. In fact, it’s a broker service where they audit your invoices and make recommendations (once a year) so you can benefit from changed market situations without monitoring all these different areas.
To start with, you can sign up for the usual suspects of your home:
After an initial intake (250 euro?), for just 1 euro per month per invoice (supplier) you outsource to 1stopshop, you can save a multitude of the amount with just saying yes to the rational recommendations we make. 1stopshop does the market research, the negotiations… All the hassle in finding the best deals is over. 1stopshop does it better you’ll ever can.
In addition to clear monetary benefits, whenever there is trouble with a supplier, 1stopshop will mediate and help you out with a smile. Don’t waste time trying to do it yourself and get frustrated, Just log into their portal, tell them, sit back and relax. Let them take care of it. They’ll contact you when, using the means you like, when the air has been cleared.
The 1stopshop portal works a bit like Coolblue where you have 1 account that can access all the contracts per service store in which new propositions by suppliers are reported about, analysed and recommended to user profiles. You can also keep track of all these services in one handy account.
Managing your household services has never been more convenient. With HouseHoldShop you can trust making the right decisions.
It’s no coincidence that @kodel also wrote a blogpost about this with pretty much the same thinking.
A relationship with books as a starting point for relationships with real people. The bookswap.com service enables people to keep track of their personal library, say what books are available for swapping and keep track of the ones that got passed on/through. By discovering books you love (to read), meet people with mutual interests, start discussing them books and other stuff that matters to you. Enjoy the track and trace of your (favourite) books that passed through real people’s hands.
The book swap service works with a book valuation system and guestbook review system per book aims to become the largest reading initiative in the world.
The guestbook review system can be compared with the guestbook at the end of a exhibition or hotel visit. Every member of the bookswap service gains points which can be exchanged to get priority listing on rare books.
Whenever you walk through a city or even in small towns, you see these sign on driveways, garage doors and sometimes even on windows: DO NOT PARK HERE! Often they are accompanied by a car license plate that makes it clear there is one exception…
Most of the time, this potential parking spot is unused and takes up a lot of the potentially available parking space. I want to make this space available again with a simple piece of hardware. Everyone can order this piece of connected hardware and secure it on their wall or garage door. This ‘take my parking’ display type of thing displays a code people can interact with through an designated app (or sms). They can retrieve information until when the parking spot is available. where the nearest available parking spot is, etc.
This way people give away or sell parking time to other people.
In the marketing of the product and service I would go the social route (that medical practicians, social service workers (police, fire brigade, etc) can use available parking spots for free) and the money-making potential a unused parking spot.
Every couple of years I start running but once I’m up to speed, I need to stop because of painful knees and joints. What I like most was running with music in my ears. I also noticed that some of music made me run faster.
Pandemic Music Runner is a plug-in, add-on for any sports GPS tracker (Nike+, Runkeeper, …) that analysis your performance in relation to the music you’re listening to (such as Pandora, Shazam, …).
I believe that music in training improves more rapidly sport performances. Based on one’s personal music taste and past training analysis, new adapted training programs rolls out of the app. By offering it to the masses – the giant amount of data that gets collected can be analyzed and gives the opportunity to grow it into a professional sport consultancy service.
Every machine needs maintenance and spare parts from time to time. If your machine would be connected and spare parts are automatically send to you with instructions when a part is well-worn and should be replaced, how easy would that be?
The idea sprout today when I went for my car’s maintenance. With cars it’s easy. They know exactly how long you can drive before you need to replace your oil, timing belt, wheels and even lights or cables. The people in the garage workshop just link a computer to your car and that tells them everything what needs to happen.
For example; A lightbulb at the end of its lifetime? Replace it before it breaks. Not only this would make a great service. The perceived brand value is much higher as the machine seems unbreakable.
It’s applicable on all mechanical goods. The business model would includes sending out technicians who do precautions maintenance with express service when a (part of a) machine unexpectedly breaks down.
The idea of today is a service where you can add a picture of your bike, describe the obvious, secret and hidden characteristics and go out biking without any problems.
Whenever your bike is stolen, you press a panic button. It registers where you are and you send a lost and found message to fellow members in the neighborhood who look out for your bike, together with you. When someone spots your bike or gives the tip that lead to retrieving your bike back, they get a reward.
It’s a freemium business model where it cost nothing to register your bike (potential marketing: make pictures of bikes yourself and add a card with unique code so people can just register more easily), but the use of the panic button cost you 5 euro. You can also take an insurance for your bike. For 5 euro a month, you are delivered a second hand bike in perfect shape when your bike has been stolen.
Should work in The Netherlands and cities with a bike-crazy population (student towns).
